Summary:
The Persephone myth explains the seasons. The daughter is kidnapped by the ruler of the underworld, Pluto, who makes her his queen. Teaching Ideas:
Teachers will need to introduce this book with care, placing the story within the genre of Greek mythology. It could be part of a multi-cultural unit on creation/nature myths or a unit that investigates what human questions myths attempt to answer. It may be fun to compare this myth with the mother/daughter book Indigo and Moonlight Gold. For more information, visit the website www.loggin.com/myth/content.html.
