Summary:
A young woman with Asperger's Syndrome travels to the south of France with her mother and friends and strives for independence. This is a story about life's obstacles and ultimately, the dignity found in the search for independence. Readers might identify with the issues that are presented but from the perspective of a girl on the autism spectrum in an unfamiliar place.

Teaching Ideas:
Research Asperger's Syndrome - famous or successful people who have it, the incidence of it in the population, etc. Read something by Harold Pinter or Samuel Beckett, Taylor's favorite authors. Map study of the trip to France and the south of France.
