Title:                   Making a Recipe Book

Learner Level:     Intermediate ESOL

 

Pre-Instruction:    Lessons on Word, Power Point and the Internet.

      The students should be able to make simple tables, copy and paste,           

                               navigate the Internet to collect information, and compile it into

                               a Power Point presentation.

 

Duration:             4 Hours

Materials:          Word, Power Point and Internet. Recipe books, and collected data.

Objectives:         

  • To practice doing research, data collecting, picture transferring.

  • Writing Spanish thoughts into English sentences.

  • Choosing and applying sounds and designs to PP.

  • Practicing oral presentations.

 

Procedure:         Students will:

 

1.    Develop and design a front cover with title, and picture,

                               2.  Write an index page (a table with name and origin of recipe.)

3.    Search for recipes of soups, main dish, and desserts.

4.    Search for origin of recipe

5.    Search for appropriate pictures of recipe.

6.    Design a back cover with student’s name design.

7.    Set up a Power Point.

                               8.  Apply sound and design to Power Point.

                               9.  Present Power Point to class.

                               10.  Print and laminate recipe book.

 

 

Evaluation:                         Finished Recipe Book, and oral Power Point presentation.
