Integrating Computer Technology into the Classroom Final Activity

 

Title:                     ABE Tutor/Instructional Aide - Personal Budgets

 

Learner Level:     ABE 1 to ASE 2

 

Pre-Instruction:    GED Manuals and Pre-GED Manuals Remedial Math

                       

Duration:              Weekly

 

Materials:

Utilizing Excel Spreadsheet, the student will create a  spreadsheet that allows them to create and track a personal budget and track expenses.

Objectives:                       

The students will utilize relevant chapters in their GED Math Texts, regarding Personal Budgets and banking, and will apply them to creation of a personal budget tracking system

Procedure:                       

Students will read and complete text book chapters on personal budget system. The student will collect and input in Excel Spreadsheet, such personal data applicable to their own daily, or monthly expenses.

Evaluation:                       

          Student Outcomes:

Student should be able to predict certain expenses, trends/intentions RE: financial status. Student will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Neatness and accuracy of typing

  • Preparation of data

  • Ability to balance a checkbook

  • Establishing and maintaining an ongoing file system for tracking expenses.
