Description This alternative delivery professional development opportunity is for ABLE directors and coordinators who are considering establishing a workplace program OR instructors who are starting to teach a workplace education program.
This very thorough training is based on nine Workplace Instructor Training modules on CD-ROM with an extensive workbook including supportive readings and other relevant materials for each module. You may complete the entire training or simply the part(s) that are most relevant to your professional needs.
The activity involves the following steps:
1) Workplace Instructor Training (CD)
Work through the nine modules (approximately 20-30 minutes each)or modules appropriate to your program's needs.
2) Teachng Basic Skills in the Workplace (Workbook)
This workbook contains pre-, during, and post-supportive materials for each module. Use these materials to further develop an understanding of implementing workplace education.
3) After working through the modules and making use of the workbook, outline a proposal for implementing a workplace program in your community/or improving an existing workplace program, or in a reaction paper, explain why you will not be able to implement the training. |
