Description
This alternative delivery professional development opportunity is for all GED and ESOL teachers.

Do You Speak American? Book and (3) one-hour DVDs

This comprehensive professional development allows you to join Robert McNeil on his travels across the United States to answer important sociolinguistic questions such as: What is Standard English? What is the current state of written English? Do we engage in dialect bias? Is language part of social identity? What is the future of American English?

This activity involves the following steps:

1) Read the book and view the DVDs Do You Speak American?
2) Write a reaction paper focusing on how the materials relate to your teaching experience.
3) Return the materials with your reaction paper and a signed stipend request/evaluation form ($60) and a certificate of completion will be sent to you.
