Description In this ambitious, provocative book, Maryanne Wolf chronicles the remarkable journey of the reading brain not only over the past five thousand years, since writing began, but also over the course of a single child's life, showing in the process why children with dyslexia have reading difficulties and singular gifts. Directions: 1. Read the book, Proust and the Squid by Maryanne Wolf. 2. After reading the book, write a reaction paper focusing on how the book relates to your teaching experience. 3.
