Description
"If you didn't grow up in poverty, you may be unaware of the hidden rules that govern many aspects of life for the poor. People in poverty are often in survival mode, where the future holds no promise, and support systems taken for granted in middle class and wealth do not exist." Bridges Out of Povery will help you and your program partner with students living in poverty to create opportunities for success and strengthen student persistence. It gives the strategies to begin working on "front-line" staff skills, from support staff to administrators, and to develop new methods to improve relationships with students and improve outcomes.

This alternative delivery professional development opportunity is for all ABLE directors, teachers and support staff.

This activity involves the following steps:
1. Listen to the audio book, Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities.
2. Return the Audiobook to the OLRC in the enclosed postage-paid envelope.
3. Complete the Alternative Professional Development Response Form located within the PD System.
