Description Rain in a Dry Land is a tale of two remarkable families, refugees from the 1991 civil war in Somalia, who find new homes in urban America. Emmy award-winning filmmaker Anne Makepeace captures the poetry, the humor and the astonishing resilience of these new Americans as they show us our world through new eyes. Register for this activity and you will be sent the DVD. Watch the video, write a reaction paper and return both to the Northeast ABLE Resource Center. The Center will send you a Certificate of Completion. This is part of the series of trainings on PreLiteracy in ESOL.
