Description This alternative delivery training is appropriate for all teachers, but especially for those teaching ESOL and EL/Civics. All materials are provided by the Northeast ABLE Resource Center. The Sound of Language by Amulya Malladi is a story of bravery, tradition and the power of language. An Afghan woman, attempting to start a new life in a foreign country after escaping war-torn Kabul, and a Danish widower form an unexpected alliance. The activity involves the following steps: 1. Read the book. 2. After reading the book, write a reaction paper focusing on how the book relates to your teaching. 3. Return the book with your reaction paper and evaluation form, and a Certificate of Completion will be sent to you.
