Description This alternative delivery professional development opportunity is for all ABLE directors and coordinators. From First-Year to First-Rate by Barbara L. Brock and Marilyn L. Grady is a thought-provoking manual for you to help your new teachers be the best they can be. Although written for K-12 administrators, ABLE directors and coordinators can apply these same strategies to help new ABLE teachers succeed. The activity involves the following steps: 1) Read First-Year to First-Rate supplied to you by the Northeast ABLE Resource Center. 2) After reading the book, write a reaction paper focusing on how the authors' message relates to your own administrative experiences. 3) Return the book with your reaction paper and an evaluation form, and a Certificate of Completion will be sent to you. Contact hours for this activity are 2.5 hrs.
