| Description Description: This alternative training provides participants with a power point and documents utilized in the face-to-face portfolio trainings. The purpose is to offer classroom teachers practical tools to use with students in order to build a portfolio that captures the students academic growth. Audience: ABLE Classroom staff Delivery Format: Individual, small or large group Objectives: Classroom teachers will design a meaningful, useable and efficient portfolio system for their classrooms. Outcome: Each ABLE instructor who participates in the alternative training will develop a sample Student Portfolio consisting of an administrative folder and student folder with appropriate documents that meet the requirements of the Ohio Performance Accountability System. The items for the administrative folder will be selected from the Blue Folder materials, and the student folder documents will be selected from the Work Sample materials mailed in this packet. In addition, the participant will submit a completed Reflection and Ideas Chart and evaluation of the alternative delivery. Connection to Ohios Standards: The Portfolio System was written and approved by the Ohio ABLE Office in conformance with the requirements of Standards Based Education. The training has been approved by Ohio ABLE as meeting the Standards.
