| Description This alternative delivery professional development opportunity is for all GED/ESOL teachers and directors. The Glass Castle is a memoir describing a peculiarly dysfunctional family, whose children survived their parents' unusual child-rearing choices and eventual homelessness. This real-life story challenges mainstream concepts of family, love, loyalty and "diversity". The activity involves the following steps: 1. Read The Glass Castle 2. After reading the book, write a reaction paper focusing on how the materials relate to your teaching experience. 3. Return the book with your reaction paper and a signed stipend request/evaluation form ($30) and a certificate of completion will be sent to you. |
