This site offers links to twelve great American women including Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Emily Dickinson, Rachel Carson, Mary Stevenson Cassatt,Willa Siebert Cather, Georgia O'Keefe, Dorthea Dix, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Each page contains a short paragraph (biography) and a list of Internet sites that lead to additional information.
Comments:
A class activity might include each student choosing a person to learn more about. Students can brainstorm about what they know about their chosen person, write down three things they would like to learn about the person, and then embark on a web quest to find the information. Each biography page contains wonderful Internet links to enable visitors to find out additional information.
