Comments:
All of the web site sections here lend themselves to classroom and one-on-one tutoring activities. Mountain Tales and Mountain Memories can be used to extend student writing activities. Students can write about their favorite childhood memories, memories of growing up on a farm, in the city, going to grandma's house, a first job, a first love and many more topics. These sections would also be great for reading and reading comprehension activities and for studying mountain culture and way of life. The possibilities are endless! Check out the recipes page and have students bring in a favorite recipe to share with their tutor or with the class. This activity can be further extended by having students convert their recipe to feed more or fewer people to work on math skills. Also check out Mountain Crafts. This section will provide great ideas for students to write about their hobbies.
