Purposeful and Transparent
Students have many questions and misunderstandings about the voting process. Information provided during this time will give the students a clear picture of exactly how they could become involved as citizens.
Contextual
During a presidential election while interest and opinions are piqued, learning can focus on the importance of civil responsibilities and how participation is needed to build a strong democracy.
Building Expertise
During this lesson, students practice using a questioning technique that will help them as they become expert readers.
