Purposeful, Transparent, Contextual, Building Expertise

Purposeful and Transparent Students want to be successful, but often fail to realize that taking risks is part of the process. By reading poetry and writing about themes, students will gain insights into what others consider success. Contextual By using poetry on the topic of making choices and taking chances, students are able to infer the poet’s themes and make inferences for their own lives. Building Expertise Students will have had experience with figurative language and are gaining practice in making inferences and increasing their vocabulary.
