Purposeful, Transparent, Contextual, Building Expertise

Purposeful and Transparent Students will discover the usefulness of estimation when eating out or shopping Contextual Students practice estimating a tip, the amount off a sale item, and the proportion of an amount so they can mentally determine accuracy when calculated. Building Expertise The teacher builds on prior knowledge of estimation and allows students to practice concepts throughout the lesson until students are comfortable and ready to move on to next concept.
