Purposeful, Transparent, Contextual, Building Expertise
Purposeful and Transparent
Students will come to appreciate the oral history of the narratives and enjoy collecting their personal histories. Everyone enjoys sharing their story.

Contextual
The slave narratives give us a description of the Civil War and Antebellum time in American History.

Building Expertise
The American/Southern Dialect can be a challenge to master and students will need to practice saying the words out loud in order to build their vocabulary.
