Purposeful, Transparent, Contextual, Building Expertise

Purposeful and Transparent Lesson provides lots of practice using formulas for perimeter, area and volume. Students use various models and diagrams to investigate the formulas. Contextual Student ideas are encouraged as they apply this lesson to real-life situations such as quilting, tiles, etc. Building Expertise Students reinforce a basic knowledge of geometric formulas and expand that knowledge to look at basic number principles.
