Teaching Ideas:

Since Walter Dean Myer emphasizes the importance of storytelling and imagining stories in the first person (see the introduction), readers will want to compare these with the original Bible stories to see what the author changed and why. This would provide an excellent opportunity for teachers to include a mini-lesson on point-of-view in narrative.
