Teaching Ideas:
Pair this book with Jaqueline Martin's Snowflake Bentley. The book provides a wonderful opportunity for ESOL students and beginning readers to compare/contrast pictures through conversation, perhaps charting characteristics such as sharp vs. round points. Students might be interested in learning more about the science of snowflakes, crystals, and frost.
