Summary:
Mama Provi lives on the first floor of an apartment building and her granddaughter, Lucy, lives on the eighth floor. When Mama Provi heads up with a pot of arroz con pollo to comfort Lucy (who has chicken pox), a simple pot of chicken and rice is transformed into a multicultural feast.

Teaching Ideas:
Learners may want to share family recipes. Teachers may want to locate copies of the recipes mentioned and invite students to multiply measurements to provide enough for the class. An international potluck would be fun. The book could be used for copy change.
