Teaching Ideas:
Discussion strategies will be helpful in addressing topics such as the relationship of the Rabbi and the Golem and how the Golem becomes more human as the story progresses. Readers might enjoy creating a script for a Readers' Theater presentation. More information on the Jewish mythology of the Golem can be found on the Internet, especially the link to Tolkien's work now in film and DVD. Readers can search the Eureka database for other books illustrated by David Wisniewski in cut-paper collages.
