Teaching Ideas: |
There is such delight in encountering this book that students should be encouraged to develop their own personal responses using Bleich's Heuristic. Semantic mapping would generate sea and seaside vocabulary for a writing activity. Teachers can also divide the story into parts, then have pairs of learners write a text to accompany the photos. ESOL students can practice oral English by talking about the story page by page while the teacher takes dictation. |
