This biography of the Wright Brothers is accompanied by archival photographs (as well as illustrations). Text boxes describe related events. Glossary, timeline, bibliography, and list of related WWW sites are included.

Teaching Ideas:
This book joins the matrix on flight. Writing a biopoem of the brothers would be a good response activity. Using the Wrights as an example of methodical goal setting, students can plan a step-by-step method of reaching one of their goals. Additional inquiry about other aviators or about less famous events from the Wright Brothers' lives will be facilicated by using the WWW sites at the back of the book. Those in family literacy programs may wish to focus on the brothers' parents, perhaps by considering the role their support may have played in the brothers' success.
