Teaching Ideas:
Lots of interesting and surprising history here. Students may wish to keep notes of interesting tidbits as they read. Several issues could provide focus for further inquiry--rebellious teens, Constitutional amendments, women as political forces, Washington insiders, gangsters. Hints at the end about parallels to today's drug wars might provide an interesting extension.
