Summary:
A story in three parts about a Victorian artist, Waterhouse Hawkins, who brought dinosaurs to life for all to see, originally in England and later in New York City He devoted over three decades to building the first life-size models of these giant creatures. Author's and illustrator's notes at back of book offer more insights. Great look of the science at the time and how an author/writer/teacher researched dinosaurs to build actual models.

Teaching Ideas:
A good way to discuss how scientists are continually adjusting their theories. A good peek into the scientific method. Students can discuss how ideas in science change and scientific ideas/theories which have changed over time. Student could write their own life history in three parts like the book is written.
