Teaching Ideas: |
Teachers will probably want to read this book before using it with learners. It's interesting, but the subject of death may be a difficult one for some. Any nonfiction comprehension strategy would work well; chapters are short. Map work is possible. Groups may want to visit old cemeteries in their communities. Reading the book may motivate students to learn more about some of the cultures mentioned or to trace their own family's history. |
