Teaching Ideas: |
This book fits in with others about the Jewish ghettos and concentration camps for a study of Nazi treatement of Jews. Students could use maps to locate the ghettos and camps. Students could discuss the characteristics that helped Ela get through this dark time and how teachers and others helped her. Students could discuss and write what they would write on a post card or letter from Terezin keeping in mind that all mail was censored. |
