General Information:

Summary:
Over 100 graphic artists draw their reactions to the 9-ll attack on the World Trade Center. There are as many styles and points-of-view as artists. Although graphic in nature, some texts would be difficult for beginning readers due to size and type face.

Teaching Ideas:
Teachers may want to ask students to pick a favorite artist from the book and talk or write about it--its meaning, style and so forth and then share it. Learners could also pick a favorite and write a story without pictures to see what the graphics add. Art-minded students might try to write a graphic story--about 9-11 or some other major event. Teachers can discuss the nature of graphic novels (some students may have seen the movie American Splendor about a Cleveland graphic novelist), their appeal and their difficulties. Another graphic novel to use for comparison is Clan Apis.
