Teaching Ideas:
Students could compare and contrast the life and work of peasants in the Middle Ages with farmers today. What has contributed to the differences? Students who are especially interested in medieval times might enjoy reading The Midwife's Apprentice. Students interested in the illustrations might want to look in the library for an example of a book of hours like that of the Duc du Barry. Students might want to try their hand at Gothic lettering.
