This small, unusual book, which defies categorization, contains illustrations of postage stamps depicting famous people that are accompanied by memorable quotations. Readers commented on the poor binding.

Teaching Ideas:
Individual entries in this entertaining book make excellent prompts for writing and discussion. By disassembling the book, each entry becomes a card in a deck. The deck can be used to develop categories of famous people such as "writers," "politicians," "painters," etc. or a game in which a person draws a card to do further biographical research on the person. The book offers an introduction to the use of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations.
