Teaching Ideas:
Ask students to work together to prepare a class newspaper of the Great Depression. Ask students to read other books centering on the theme:Grapes of Wrath, Out of the Dust etc. Chapters could be used with various topics of Great Depression. This book should serve as a wonderful reference book of the Great Depression and how American coped in an uncertain time in our history. This book can be linked to other books covering this period in our history.
