Summary:
When a suitcase with Hana Brady's name on it arrives at the Toyko Children's Holocaust Education Center, the children have many question about who Hana might have been. In an effort to answer those questions, Fumiko Ishioka, the center's curator, begins a search for information about Hana and her family.

Teaching Ideas:
Students can read and discuss other books about the Holocaust (see the Holocaust thematic collection for titles). Have students compare the Holocaust with more recent instances of genocide. Readers can learn more about the Terezin concentration camp in I Never Saw Another Butterfly.
