This beautifully illustrated alphabet picture book presents an acrostic poem for words relating to Winter. It is set in the far north and follows the season from the first heavy snowfall to the coming of spring.

Teaching Ideas:
Students can write ABC acrostic poems about other content areas. For example, when researching a time period in history, they can collaboratively brainstorm a list of relevant words and each write a few acrostic poems to create a class book. Students can create an acrostic poem of their own names and other family members.
